Each year on April 1st, the heralds of the Known World (specifically, within the College of Heralds Imaginary), join together in an effort of wonderment and silliness known as the April Fool’s LoI for each Kingdom in the Society. This year, the Office of the Tyger Clerk of the Signet is pleased to have offered the scribes of the East Kingdom to participate, by taking the devices from these various Letters of Intent (LoI), and creating suitable achievements of Arms (with supporters, mantling, etc.) for one entry each, excluding any direct references to commercial or licensed images.

Of the scribes who entered, Lady Shoshana’s clever work in alluding to Batman’s true supporters, Ace and Robin, was particularly notable. We (Lorem Ipsum Herald, Weeping Angel Herald, and myself, Vanna della Bianca) are pleased to award her first place for her work, and I will be bringing her work, and that of all other scribes who have participated in this project, with me to the Kingdom of Caid for a display at Known World Heralds and Scribes in June A.S. XLIX.

The decision for first place was a tough one, and I am pleased to announce a runner-up to Lady Lada Monguligin, who surprisingly and unknowingly also selected the exact same emblazon to work from, based off of the 2008 April Fool’s LoI in the Kingdom of Calontir. Lada’s work will also be brought to KWHSS 2014 in Caid, and I invite any and all who simply wish to display to please contact me if they would also like their work brought to Caid.

Well done to all!

–Vanna della Bianca
